Our Process
Handmade every step of the way
01
Preparation
Our slate stones are hand cut and shaped, ensuring each stone is unique. All of our stones are then washed and treated with a sealant to provide a wet-look finish to the surface.
03
Sandblasting
The stone is then placed in our blast cabinet where we use pressurized abrasive media to carve out your custom stone. This process can be time consuming depending on the complexity of the design and density of the stone.
02
Design
We digitally design each individual stone's stencil. It's then cut onto a thin rubber adhesive using our vinyl cutter machine. The stencil is applied to the stone, the design is hand weeded, and finally heated to ensure crisp engraving.
04
Perfection
Black paint is applied to sandstone at this stage and any finishing coat for slate. Stencils are then removed and the stones are washed. Each stone is closely inspected and any touchups are completed if needed.
